Fascia a sheet of connective tissue covering or binding together body structures (as muscles); also : tissue of this character

Release to relieve from something that confines, burdens, or oppresses

Sophie and Wayne developed Kinetic Fascial Release over 20 years of research, experimentation and clinical practice. They have had the privilege of learning from a number of international manual therapy pioneers. Many of the unique Kinetic Fascial Release techniques and paradigms were borne from Wayne Pinel's own struggles in creating ways from which he could heal from his very severe motorcycle accident in 1989 when conventional treatment methods and protocols failed to provide relief and mobility. Wayne was working as a biologist for the Alberta Research Council when his accident took him in an instant from being an elite athlete to someone who could not walk. Thus began his change in professions and his life-long dedication to the healing arts. Wayne and Sophie have both been through the injury and recovery process and lead very active lives with their family today. Wayne and Sophie continue to develop Kinetic Fascial Release and hope that others might benefit from this work.

"Never let anyone tell you that you cannot get better."

-Diane Webster, St Mary's University Sports Medicine

Structural manual therapy ultimately is effective whether the touch or pressure is very deep or very light, and is completely up to the individual patient. Kinetic Fascial Release incorporates advanced Cranial, visceral (internal organs and related fascia), and advanced structural manual therapy that treats restrictions in the connective tissue found throughout the body.

Whether recovering from an acute injury, chronic pain, simply desiring to correct postural distortions (poor posture), or increase ones flexibility, Kinetic Fascial Release is both corrective and preventative.

Wayne Pinel is also the developer of the Kinetic Fascial Release table and tools.
